What does this signal justify doing next?

Account intelligence

Account intelligence is a dated, sourced record of an organisation and its buying context. An intent signal indicates observed activity; it does not identify a named buyer’s intent or confirm a purchasing project by itself.

The work you should leave with

A verified brief with evidence, unknowns, an owner and a time-bounded action.

Define your account context and baseline before choosing a method. Record the evidence, unknowns, accountable owner and review decision. The guides below address different parts of that task.

Inspect a sample account play

Build an evidence record people can inspect

Begin with the source, publication or observation date, account-match basis and permitted use. Keep the observed fact separate from the interpretation. A public announcement can establish that a business event occurred; it cannot establish the private budget, project status or intent of an individual executive. Record those fields as unknown until the account team verifies them.

When an agent assembles the brief, require evidence beside material claims and a way to flag conflicting sources. Review the source itself for consequential statements. A complete-looking summary can still be unusable if its account match is uncertain or a cited page does not support the stated inference.

Turn the signal into a proportionate action

A repeat visit to technical content may justify a check of current account conversations. A known contact’s request may justify a specific response. Treat these as different evidence states. Combine recency, relevance and match confidence with the sales owner’s context rather than sending every signal into the same outreach sequence.

Give the owner a concise handoff: what was observed, why it may matter, what remains unknown and one useful question. Include an expiry or review point. The owner accepts, defers or rejects the action and records the reason, allowing the team to improve the signal rules using real decisions.

Review freshness, conflicts and ownership

In a fictional manufacturing account, a recent acquisition and integration-content engagement support a question about systems compatibility. They do not establish an ERP replacement. A useful next step is an account-owner check followed by an integration discovery asset, if the relationship context supports it. An unsupported replacement claim should be removed before messaging.

Use the review to assess supported-claim coverage, stale evidence, matching errors and accepted handoffs. These checks tell you whether intelligence is usable. An engagement score alone cannot show which assertion is reliable or which next action helped the account owner.

Start with these decisions.

These sources inform a test design. They do not establish an Outsell result or guarantee that an effect transfers to your account programme.
